$250,000 prize pool

Each finalist will receive a $50,000 cash prize to support their entry into South Australia and the delivery of their winning proposal!

  • Join the Unearthed Community

    Unearthed creates the space for industry and innovation to come together to solve problems to reach a shared goal of sustainably producing critical minerals.

    As challenge sponsor we will be offering all finalists the opportunity to raise your profile and gain great exposure across our community, the largest of its kind in the mining and resources sector. This will include extensive marketing and PR coverage associated with the finalist announcement.

  • Exposure & support from the Department for Trade and Investment

    The Department for Trade and Investment (DTI) are responsible for driving business investment in the state across all industries.

    We’ll help you expand your business into South Australia and provide opportunities for investment.

    Finalists will have the opportunity to feature on invest.sa.gov.au to attract investment support and will be invited to register for our South Australian Landing Pad (SALP) program.

  • Support to establish your profile from AusIMM

    AusIMM is the peak body for people working in the resources sector. We shape careers, showcase leadership, create communities and uphold standards.

    As challenge sponsor, AusIMM are offering a number of exciting incentives designed to support challenge finalists in establishing and operating successfully from within the South Australian marketplace. This includes AusIMM conference registrations, access to AusIMM on-demand courses and much more.

  • Membership with Austmine

    Finalists will each be rewarded with an Austmine membership for one year.

    Austmine’s membership community comprises the largest and most comprehensive network of Australian companies involved with the Mining Equipment, Technology and Services sector (METS).

    You’ll also have the chance to promote your business and ideas via Austmine webinars to their large network.

    Hughes PR are offering finalists a fantastic incentive, providing assistance and advice on strategic branding and business development.

    For each of the 5 finalists, Hughes PR are offering to pair them with a highly experienced senior consultant who will provide professional advice for two hours per month for three months, to the winning company chief executive or leadership team.

  • Secure your place at IMARC 2022

    IMARC is offering finalists a number of exciting opportunities to participate in IMARC 2022 to be held in October 22.

    With over 70 hours of networking, there will be ample opportunity for you to meet more than 8,000 decision makers, mining leaders, policy makers, investors, commodity buyers, technical experts, innovators, and educators at Australia’s largest mining event.

  • Consult with experts from the University of Adelaide

    The 5 challenge finalists will have the opportunity to work with leading experts in the field of critical minerals.

    Professors Carl Spandler and Nigel Cook will consult with innovators providing advice and expertise on critical minerals, including data interpretation, advice on how to progress projects, and contacts to industry networks.

    Finalists will also have the opportunity to develop student projects (honours, PhD) with the Australian Critical Minerals Research Centre.

  • Engage with the team from UniSA's Future Industries Institute

    The University of South Australia is offering the 5 challenge finalists the opportunity to consult with Prof David Giles and colleagues from the Future Industries Institute.

    David and the team from FII are keen to offer finalists advice and expertise on critical minerals, including data interpretation, advice on how to progress projects, and contacts with industry/professional networks.

    UniSA will enable access to laboratories at collaborative rates for appropriate projects.
